Wanting to access the international market with THEIR coffee, this small collective of producers under the name Murage Estate (despite having land culminating in only 10 acres) pursued the licence needed to do so. Rather than the usual practice of delivering to a larger cooperative, getting a pulping licence would allow them to process their coffee on the estate, with the goal of sharing their coffee on the international market without being blended into many other lots in the area.
The farm and small wet mill are located in Kirinyaga county which is close by Nyeri in Central Kenya – Known for top-quality coffees.
Murage Estate flowers twice within the Kenya coffee calendar January/February for the main crop and October/November for the fly crop. This PB lot is from the main crop in 2019.
