A field blend of SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, & Batian from smallholder farmers, members of the Tekangu Farmer's Cooperative Society, who deliver to Ngunguru washing station. Processed as washed, fermented in tanks and dried on raised beds. A melon & lulo sweet juiciness, with a blackberry flavour (that coffees from Nyeri are famous for) coming through on cooling.

Ngunguru
Ngunguru is part of the Tekangu Farmers Cooperative Society and located in Nyeri in central Kenya.Tekangu FCS includes the Ngunguru, Karagoto and Tegu factories. The Society’s name is a port-manteau of the original three factories:Te-ka-ngu.Tekangu is made up of smallholder farms, each with 100 trees. They organized in Cooperative Societies that act as an umbrella organizations for factories and wet mills.The soil around Mount Kenya is rich and volcanic, mainly Nitisol. Nitisols occur in highlands and on volcanic steep slopes. They are developed from volcanic rocks and have uniquely beneficial chemical and physical properties compared with other tropical soils.
