Kurume & Wolisho varieties grown by smallholders and delivered to Chelbesa One washing station in Gedeb, Ethiopia. Depulped & dry fermented in tanks for 2-3 days before being washed and dried on raised beds.
This lot was cultivated by 1000 smallholder producers on 2-3ha garden plots in Chelbesa, Gedeb, and delivered to the Chelbesa One washing station (managed by SNAP) to be processed. Unusual for Ethiopia washed process, this lot was fermented without water after depulping, aiding in a more jammy grape & apricot fruitiness, mineral complexity, and barley tea finish.
